BGL runs two campus programs, both funneled through its Chicago and Cleveland offices:

• Summer Analyst – a generalist internship the summer before senior year; recruiting starts as early as sophomore year, and interns see deal work across BGL's industry verticals (Consumer, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Industrials, Infrastructure & Environment, Services, Technology).
• Analyst (full-time) – filled primarily from returning Summer Analysts; BGL posts a direct opening only when the incoming class needs topping up, and current seniors are then encouraged to apply.

Because the firm fills most Analyst seats from its own intern class, the sophomore-year Summer Analyst application is effectively the main entry point into BGL: skipping it means competing later for a smaller, less predictable pool of direct-hire openings.

Vault placed the Summer Analyst program 9th nationally in its 2026 investment banking internship rankings, based on a survey of more than 17,000 interns at nearly 250 companies; Yello and WayUp separately named it to their 2025 Top 100 Internship Programs list. For a firm well outside the bulge-bracket set, that gives a candidate comparing similarly sized boutiques a concrete, third-party read on internship quality that most peers of BGL's size can't offer.
