Internship: Mortgage Trading Desk (Summer 2027)

Garda is looking to hire an Intern to join the Mortgage Trading Desk in New York for Summer 2027. The candidate will be integrated into the trading team, helping research, analyze, and implement trading solutions. During the internship, you will be exposed to the fundamentals, analytics, and philosophies of trading, working closely with a mentor who will provide guidance and feedback. You will also have the opportunity to shadow and gain exposure to other desks across the trading floor, providing a broader perspective on the firm’s business and markets.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of data-driven strategies to complement investment decisions.
• Support the team’s research process, including data collection and analysis, prototyping, backtesting, and performance monitoring.
• Complete desk projects, including trade ideas, with presentations to the investment team.

Qualifications & Desired Skills

• Exceptional quantitative and programming skills (Python and SQL).
• Knowledge and interest in financial markets.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Intellectual curiosity and motivation to innovate and improve.

Compensation

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education.

Hourly compensation for this role is expected to be between: $55—$55 USD.
