Junior Market Analyst

Role Overview

The Market Analyst will be part of the fundamentals team within JERAGM focusing on LNG and European gas. The individual will play a key part in the analysis supporting JERAGM's LNG, Coal and Japanese Power trading businesses. The analyst will update our models to gain market views and will coordinate closely with team members in Singapore and London in a collaborative and open manner. The role includes assisting with input for others to inform senior management and drafting weekly and monthly reports based on updated models and lessons learned.

Key Responsibilities

• Run tools and models and enhance them to support insights.
• Work closely with traders and other analysts by sharing sensitivities and lessons learned from what the models show, and communicating the impact of the analysis.
• Share insights on wider gas and relevant commodity markets and understand their impact on views and positions.
• Scrape data and contribute to data-warehouse buildout to enable a more systematic approach to modelling, including probabilistic and multivariable regression models.

Requirements

• Strong coding experience; preference for moving from Excel-based models to Python models for advanced modelling insights.
• Experience with data scraping and data-warehouse development; familiarity with probabilistic and multivariable regression modelling is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate with traders and analysts across locations (Singapore and London) in a transparent and cooperative manner.
• Experience drafting weekly and monthly reports based on updated models.
