Associate Product Manager (APM) – Platform Tribe, Reliability

Location: London (role is based in London) – this role focuses on shaping the future of reliability at Wise. This is a unique opportunity to impact Wise’s mission, grow as a product professional, and enable foundational elements that keep Wise running behind the scenes every day.

What is the Platform Tribe?

The Platform Tribe creates the technology that enables Wise to move the world’s money. Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work by creating the frameworks, capabilities and tools needed to serve millions of customers. Our internal developer platform powers the entire software development life cycle, including developer experience, reliability, data, and security.

We treat our underlying infrastructure platform as a product, considering user needs and outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to develop product skills and technical knowledge at scale. By building a platform that helps engineers deliver new features with high quality and speed, your contributions will have a major impact on Wise’s mission.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Partner with reliability engineering teams to build world‑class products for internal users.
  • Work with a broad range of technologies to identify and deliver improvements with real mission impact.
  • Identify and unlock opportunities across SRE, Observability, and Developer Experience.
  • Collaborate with functions across Wise to gather, understand, and translate user needs into reliable, scalable, performant, and efficient platform services.
  • Communicate critical insights by analyzing data and connecting hypotheses to evidence.
  • Maintain ownership by determining the biggest problems to solve and the best ways to solve them, with the support of the Platform Product Management team.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Qualifications

We understand it is uncommon to have all listed skills. We welcome candidates who have some of the following and are eager to learn more:

  • 1–2 years of experience in technical product management or a related field (software engineering, analytics, data science).
  • Strong understanding of modern software development, technical resilience, DevOps, and the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to translate platform and technology opportunities into business impact for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience using analytics and customer insights to understand problems and to scope and measure the impact of potential changes.
  • Ability to articulate problems clearly, work with engineers to define solutions, and follow through to completion.
  • Experience assessing trade‑offs when prioritising work and creating a roadmap.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally and driving culture change within an organization.
  • Clear and effective communication, with the ability to influence without authority and secure buy‑in from the broader organization.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in Platform engineering.
  • Experience in the reliability domain.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud infrastructure.
