Who you’ll work with

Bain's Summer Associate (SA) program is more than just a summer internship. It’s a springboard to your future career and a strong introduction to consulting. It’s an ideal opportunity for MBAs or advanced degree candidates (e.g., JD, PhD, MD) who want to experience the real world of consulting and gain insight into what a future with Bain could look like.

The program starts with intensive training to learn core consulting skills. You’ll work alongside Bain knowledge experts on complex business challenges and help drive change across organizations from global leaders to startups. Many SAs gain substantial industry knowledge, client management, and communication skills, and you’ll have the opportunity to secure a full-time offer to join Bain as a consultant after completing your studies.

What you’ll do

While client confidentiality prevents us from sharing client names, you may work with organizations across consumer electronics, finance, transportation, healthcare, energy, non-profits, and more. Over the summer—often at the global office of your choice—you will work directly with case teams and clients to solve business problems and drive change, as if you were a full-time Bain consultant, including:

• Working closely with full-time consultants who will provide coaching and mentorship
• Collaborating with clients from Fortune 500 companies, midsize firms, non-profits, and startups across diverse industries
• Presenting the results of your work to Partners and clients
• Applying knowledge and skills from your first year of business school to access a broad range of opportunities

About you

• Studying for an MBA or other advanced degree from a top business school or university
• A solid team player who is also an independent thinker
• A robust analytical skillset, curiosity, and a penchant for creative problem solving
• Strong time management, organization, and ability to multi-task
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Fluency in English
• Any additional language and visa requirements for the office you wish to join

Compensation

For all locations, compensation is commensurate with competitive market rates and may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and certifications. In the United States, the role includes a monthly base salary of $16,000 plus Bain’s comprehensive benefits package.
