People Operations Associate

Role Overview

We are seeking a People Operations Associate to join our team for 12 months to provide caregiver cover. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high-functioning team and keep our core operations running smoothly during a period of leave. Over the next 12 months we will be working on an HRIS implementation, so hands-on experience with HRIS design or systems migrations is valuable. Our team creates excellent employee experiences by designing and running reliable core people processes, enabling employees and managers with timely, accurate, and user-friendly information, and owning core People Systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

Location: fully remote | Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 + Benefits

Responsibilities

You’ll play a key role by...

Managing core people processes

• Administering employee changes in our People systems
• Benefit sign up and opt-out administration
• Issuing contractual change letters for our Monzonauts
• Managing the offboarding process for leavers
• Issuing employment references, including regulatory references
• Supporting the compilation and checking of monthly payroll and handling pay queries
• Managing caregiver leave and other leave processes
• Answering general people queries for Monzonauts
• Acting as a knowledge source for all people policies, procedures, and ways of working
• Managing the mandatory training programme and supporting Learning & Development with administration and logistics for other required training programmes
• Supporting Monzo’s growth and expansion, responding to queries and managing robust processes across multiple EU countries

Auditing & Controls

• Carrying out audit checks within core people processes to ensure tasks are fulfilled accurately
• Regular data audits to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Ad hoc audits of critical documentation (e.g., right to work documents, employment contracts, options certificates)

Process Design, Improvement & Projects

• Designing scalable People Operations workflows, supporting system migrations, and identifying opportunities to automate and optimise ways of working
• Producing and continuously improving documentation for all people processes
• Supporting People Partners, Reward, Hiring, and other cross-functional teams on People-wide projects

What we’re looking for

• Strong prioritisation skills to manage a high volume of queries and tasks with varying importance and SLAs
• Excellent attention to detail, especially when handling contracts, references, and system changes
• Strong communication skills as the first point of contact for People-related matters
• Hands-on experience with HRIS implementations and workflow design, including supporting system migrations; understanding of People Operations requirements and the ability to adapt processes to new systems
• Automation-minded with a knack for identifying opportunities to use AI or workflow automation to reduce repetitive tasks
