We are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer (IoT Systems) to join our engineering team and contribute to next generation connected solutions across smart platforms, robotics, and sensor systems.
This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments. You will work on IoT-centric hardware development, from prototyping to deployment, while gaining exposure to diverse project scopes and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop IoT-enabled electrical and embedded systems including sensors, communication interfaces, and power circuits.
- Participate in R&D activities across commercial and defense projects—from proof-of-concept to production-level deliverables.
- Conduct hardware design, PCB layout, prototyping, and laboratory validation of electrical systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on smart platform integration, robotics, and control system development.
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of circuits, communication protocols, and system performance.
- Support cross-domain projects outside the conventional electrical engineering scope—including software integration, field deployment, and system demonstrations.
- Prepare technical documentation such as test reports, wiring diagrams, and design justifications.
- Design, develop, and integrate inspection and sensing technologies, incorporating robotic and electronic components to enhance system capability.
- Implement condition-based monitoring instrumentation, focusing on data acquisition, analysis, and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Follow ST Engineering’s quality, safety, and security standards, with adherence to relevant engineering codes and defense project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of circuit design, embedded systems, and IoT hardware architecture.
- Knowledge of IoT communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, LoRa, BLE, CAN, TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with development tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and adaptability to evolving project scopes.
- Effective communication and documentation skills for teamwork and stakeholder engagement.
- Prior internship or project experience in IoT, robotics, or defense systems integration.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles in embedded or connected devices.
- Proactive, hands-on approach to experimentation, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
- Willingness to engage in on-site testing and multi-domain projects across ST Engineering’s business lines.
- Open to occasional travel for project and business support.
