Role and Responsibilities
Jefferies is seeking a senior associate or vice president for its Aerospace and Defense (A&D) Equity Research team. In this role, the associate will analyze industry macro trends and company financials under the direction of a Senior Analyst. The associate will be primarily responsible for building and maintaining financial models and industry databases, ensuring correct and up-to-date information for research reports distributed to internal and external clients. The associate will also work closely with the team to write the aforementioned reports, including earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications, and initiation reports. The associate will review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings, and other sources to gather, synthesize, and interpret data on companies followed by the US A&D Team.
Over time, the associate will be responsible for communicating recommendations to sales, trading, and clients. The associate will also help develop marketing materials for clients, meet with management teams of companies, and attend industry conferences where appropriate.
Required Background
- Strong academic background, with a focus on accounting, finance, or economics preferred
- 1–2 years of related financial services experience, preferably in sell-side/buy-side equity research or investment banking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong Excel skills are critical
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a time-sensitive environment
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Resourcefulness, entrepreneurial spirit, and proven leadership qualities
- Bachelor’s Degree with high GPA
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interest in Aerospace and Defense
- Solid experience in business modeling and financial statement analysis
- Securities licensing a plus (Series 7/63 and 86/87)
Compensation and Location
Primary Location: Full Time
Salary Range: $135,000 – $175,000

The salary offered will reflect an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
