Analyst – Commercial Mortgage Warehouse Group

Citibank is seeking an Analyst to support the Commercial Mortgage Warehouse Group. The candidate will collaborate with senior group members and with the group’s clients to finance commercial mortgage loans on our warehouse facilities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and perform due diligence on commercial properties and underlying mortgage loans.
• Prepare and present approval memoranda for advances against loans and for warehouse lines provided to clients.
• Support middle office, Risk, and CLO functions with client-related needs.
• Work with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers on client transactions, projects, or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking team.
• Organize and analyze sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans.
• Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials, and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals.
• Conduct economic and financial research.
• Evaluate a company’s financial performance against industry and market trends.
• Build complex financial models for valuation purposes.
• Perform periodic loan surveillance, including re-underwriting and commentary on deal performance.
• Participate in ad hoc projects, including loan servicing, loan administration, future fundings, amendments/modifications/extensions, payoffs, and documentation.
• Assess risk in business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and Citi policies; uphold ethics and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree, preferably in real estate, business, accounting, or economics.
• Proficiency with Excel; exposure to Argus is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• Around 2 years of relevant experience.
• Administration Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
• Experience evaluating financing transactions and structures.
• Experience creating financial analyses and demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills; experience assisting with client development.
• Ability to work with teams and track business development (collect research, analyze industry trends).

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business.
