Job Overview

The Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst supports the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions. This role applies specialized knowledge to monitor processes and data, identify relevant policies, and integrate disciplinary expertise with an understanding of industry practices. The analyst contributes to business objectives through meticulous task execution, effective information exchange, and developing knowledge of industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions
  • Provide analytic support to impacting stakeholders (Front Office, Middle Office, Treasury, etc.)
  • Follow established procedures to identify problems related to securities and derivatives settlement that require investigation or research
  • Assist in resolving problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guidance from precedents
  • Deliver reports to satisfy management requirements, support control activities, and the launch of products/services
  • Assist in implementing process improvements
  • Minimize risk to the bank through increased knowledge of procedural requirements—monitor errors to adhere to audit and control policies (including reconciliation, payment, and other processing systems)
  • Timely management and escalation of all requests, inquiries, issues, and errors (primarily post-settlement)
  • Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of products and processes and how duties relate and integrate with others in the team and closely related teams
  • Demonstrate excellent knowledge of bank-related systems
  • Utilize strong communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders and to exchange potentially complex sensitive information, while being sensitive to audience diversity
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, emphasizing the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of derivative products, accounting, and regulatory policies
  • Ability to work in a structured, high-volume, time-sensitive, high-risk, and demanding environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI tools and Excel
  • Data analysis skills

  • Bachelor’s/University degree
