AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables affecting the supply chain. We seek talented people to help. Role

We are expanding our Infrastructure Operations team and seeking Data Center Technicians. In this role, you will:

  • Serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges
  • Work within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware
  • Develop expertise in various hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios
  • Lead resolution of infrastructure issues and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases
  • Help drive continuous improvements

This position includes shift work and may require rotation between locations.

Key job responsibilities

Safety

  • Follow and maintain the highest safety standards; actively promote a world-class safety culture
  • Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture

Data Center Operations (DCO)

  • Diagnose hardware and network problems and perform physical repairs
  • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
  • Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) and weekends to maintain a 24/7 data center environment (as applicable)
  • Participate in on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls (as applicable)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in networking and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience in Linux and networking protocols (DNS/DHCP/TCP) and experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting
