Job Summary
The Securities & Derivatives Associate Analyst is a developing professional role. This role identifies policy and applies specialty knowledge in monitoring and assessing processes and data. It integrates disciplinary knowledge within the analyst’s specialty area with a basic understanding of related industry practices. The role requires effective communication to exchange information concisely and respectfully with audiences of varying backgrounds. The impact on the business is limited to the quality of tasks and services provided, primarily within the immediate team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for securities transaction processing execution, typically related to Securities Clearance Settlement and Derivative Operations
- Provide analytic support to traders and assist in reviewing derivative products
- Support an expansive and/or diverse array of products and services
- Follow established procedures to identify problems related to securities and derivatives settlement that require investigation or research
- Assist in resolving problems by identifying and selecting solutions through applied technical experience, guided by precedents
- Deliver reports to satisfy management requirements, support control activities, and the launch of products/services
- Assist in implementing process improvements
- Minimize risk to the bank by understanding and monitoring procedural requirements and adhering to audit and control policies (including reconciliation, payment, and other processing systems)
- Timely management and escalation of requests, inquiries, issues, and errors, primarily post-settlement
- Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of products and processes and how duties relate to and integrate with others in the team and related groups
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of bank-related systems
- Utilize effective communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, exchanging potentially complex and sensitive information while respecting audience diversity
- Assess risk when making business decisions, upholding the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, following policy, exercising ethical judgment, and escalating and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in Treasury Operations or Middle Office
- Good understanding of treasury products, accounting, and regulatory policies
- Ability to work in a structured, high-volume, time-sensitive, high-risk, and demanding environment
- Strong analytical skills and a positive attitude
- Knowledge of Macros
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
