Global Banking - Leveraged Debt Capital Markets

Role Overview

Are you a leader in innovation? Do you know how to develop creative financing ideas for clients? We’re looking for someone who can:

• Identify and meet clients' financing needs, coordinating with external and internal stakeholders, including senior colleagues, legal counsels, investors, and credit risk control.
• Create partnerships by deepening and broadening client relationships.
• Develop pitch book presentations to explain financing trends, discuss clients' financing options, and recommend financing strategies to meet client goals.
• Assist and support the team through the entire deal life cycle, including pitching and mandate, syndication, documentation, and closing.
• Act as the first line of defense and own risk. Conduct due diligence on projects and monitor financing transactions from closing to final repayment.
• Review and analyze financial models for financing transactions.
• Support the team in preparing materials and presenting recommendations to the credit committee.
• Draft term sheets and assist with documentation for loan financings.
• Draft information memorandums and respond to Q&As from syndicate banks and investors.
• Maintain relationships with syndicate banks and investors.
• Make sound and balanced judgments, always within professional, ethical, regulatory, and legal standards.

Team & Location

Based in Hong Kong, you will work in the Financing team of the Global Banking division, covering Asia ex-Japan ex-Australia. The team provides corporate, institutional, and wealth management clients with financing advice, solutions, execution, and full access to the world’s capital markets. The Financing Team originates corporate loan financings, acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, bridge financings, and unlisted or illiquid senior debt financings. UBS commits principal in structured and complex financing transactions and underwrites, originates, and distributes loans to a diverse range of investors including banks, credit funds, and hedge funds.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ideally 1–2 years of working experience in leveraged financing, loan capital markets, or structured finance in a corporate and investment banking setting.
• A university degree in business administration, economics, or finance.
• Ideally fluent in English and Mandarin.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to clients or senior executives.
