The engineering teams in Amazon design, deploy, maintain, and optimize technologies across the Global Amazon Warehouse & Delivery Network, from large, modern, purpose-built warehouses employing robotics and high-volume conveyance to high-speed delivery stations located close to our customers.

We offer professional growth and opportunities to solve complex Material Handling Equipment challenges, with the chance to work with various teams and stakeholders. Our Operations Engineering Interns must be comfortable interfacing with and driving support across functional teams at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering intern, you could join one of the following teams: Project Management, Change Management, People Management, Planning, Contracting Management, Infrastructure, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, and more. You will work on a project with real impact within Amazon. Potential responsibilities include:

  • Design, build, improve, and innovate order fulfillment infrastructure across the large-scale supply chain network.
  • Manage, design, and implement small to medium scope integrated automation projects with system elements such as high-speed sortation, multiple conveyors, package lines, and/or robotic work cells.
  • Develop alongside global teams to support the planning, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, including project management of new process implementations.
  • Support within the EU Controls network on projects to enhance the capability to monitor MHE metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
  • Participate in a program to train technicians in basic control systems fault finding to raise knowledge across the site.

Internship Start Dates

We are hiring interns with flexible start dates from January through July.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently in your penultimate year and pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial, or Software), or a STEM subject.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English (Common European Framework of Reference C1).
  • Available for a full-time internship (40 hours/week) lasting 3–6 months with a start date between January and July.
  • Analytical skills with an advanced level in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, macros).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
  • Understanding of ISO 13849 & 62061.
