Role Overview

As a Placement Analyst at RBC, you will support the Investment Banking Business Management team. This role bridges academic concepts with real-world financial practices, providing a platform to apply knowledge and develop practical skills. You will contribute to impactful projects and collaborate with industry professionals, gaining experience within a Capital Markets organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Business Management with day-to-day operational tasks to ensure smooth business activities
  • Participate in meetings and presentations, gaining exposure to key stakeholders and processes
  • Develop detailed, well-formatted presentation content to support strategic decision-making
  • Analyze and restructure large datasets to create coherent data dashboards and maintain Key Management Information
  • Drive operational efficiencies in client invoicing and fee booking procedures
  • Establish close working relationships with key functional partners
  • Perform administrative responsibilities for the Business’s Client Relationship and Deal Management Systems, ensuring data accuracy and internal reporting
  • Assist in the application and review of Artificial Intelligence to drive efficiencies by automating processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that enhance the efficiency of the European Banking team

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid commercial awareness with the ability to understand the underlying IB business context

Required

  • Knowledge of data analysis methods and techniques
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including complex formulas, pivot tables, and rigorous checks) and PowerPoint; strong overall Microsoft Office skills
  • The placement will commence in June 2026 and is based full-time in RBC's London office: 100 Bishopsgate, London, EC2N 4AA
