Role
The Middle Office & Accounting Analyst is supporting the Man Discretionary & External Alpha Managed Accounts businesses across hedge fund and private credit products. This role will support Portfolio and Asset Management activities and will be responsible for NAV oversight, cash management, client reporting, and Profit & Loss (PnL) analysis. Possessing excellent communication and administrative skills, the Analyst will be responsible for a significant portion of the day-to-day operations support and will manage relationships with our Operations counterparts at our clients and external counterparties.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the direction and administration of operations and processes for our funds.
- Check and process all cash management and payment processing activities including margin calls, loan closings, drawdowns, paydowns, and interest payments.
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of pricing governance and controls by identifying and mitigating pricing risks and documenting enhancements to the framework. Ensure relevant information is incorporated in the valuation of the investments and that valuations are reflective of fair value.
- Calculate Net Asset Value (NAV) of funds on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, including checking accrued income and expenses. Provide intra-NAV estimates to the Asset Managers/Clients when requested.
- Liaise with fund administrators to reconcile final fund NAVs and monitor deliverables against service levels.
- Work with team members to develop and deliver client reporting, respond to client queries, and assist the wider business where necessary.
- Oversee changes to incentive/performance fees, management fees, and any other fee structures in scope.
- Be responsible for account setup and daily reconciliation of transactions, ensuring accuracy of entries generated.
- Manage service provider relationships including fund administration, loan administration, banking, auditors, valuation agents, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and monthly investor reports.
- Actively monitor risk by identifying trends and potential issues with operational controls to improve the control environment and drive efficiencies.
- Take a proactive and innovative approach to enhancing processes and maintaining internal policies and procedures manuals.
Key Skills & Experience
- 0-3 years of experience in accounting or audit (e.g., Real Estate Debt, Hedge Funds, Fund of Funds).
- Excellent Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Strong communication skills, solid business knowledge, and the ability to multitask.
- High levels of pro-activity, organization, and self-motivation.
- A team player with the ability to collaborate and also take individual ownership.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation packages would also include benefits and a discretionary bonus. This is the base salary range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting based on location and requirements, as well as the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant. The Firm reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
US Pay Range
$85,000 — $95,000 USD
