Role
We are seeking a Technical Consultant to join our Customer Success team. In this post-sales role, you will engage with customers to develop software solutions on the Appian platform. These applications drive digital transformation and competitive differentiation. You will work throughout the project life cycle to define, design, develop, and implement custom software solutions on Appian for commercial clients. This includes working in an agile environment to understand business processes and technical needs, launching new relational data models in production, and developing APIs to integrate with multiple systems. You will collaborate with the client’s technical teams and business users and drive adoption by empowering clients to build process applications themselves.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to define business processes and gather functional and technical requirements.
- Develop software solutions on the Appian platform across the full project life cycle.
- Work in an agile environment to understand client needs, design data models, and implement integrations.
- Launch relational data models in production and develop APIs to integrate with multiple systems.
- Collaborate with client technical teams and business users throughout the software development life cycle.
- Drive adoption by enabling clients to build process applications independently.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with hands-on software development or technical consulting.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, relational databases, data modeling, and SQL.
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
- Willingness to travel; approximately 20% to support customer engagement.
Requirements & Skills
- Ability to work with clients to define business processes and gather functional and technical requirements.
- Excellent communication, a passion for technology, continuous learning, and problem-solving mindset.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams and familiarity with agile methodologies (pair programming, stand-ups, planning sessions, sprints).
- Knowledge of software testing practices (test-driven development, automated test suites within CI), and integrations experience using APIs (REST, SOAP), JDBC, and web services. Familiarity with AWS, AI, Analytics, Machine Learning, Google Cloud, Application Integration, Database, Developer Tools, Governance, and Elastic Containers is preferred.
