Position

Japanese Client Sales Intern

Internship Period: 3 August 2026 – 31 December 2026

About the Role

This internship provides exposure to MUFG Global Markets Business for Japanese corporate clients, with a focus on FX and Interest Rates markets. The candidate will rotate through the following desks:

• JC FX Sales
• JC Rates Sales
• JC Structuring (if capable)
• Trading (if capable)

The intern will have opportunities to work with MUFG members of the Sales, Structuring, and Trading teams and gain insights into client dealing relationships. The intern will also undertake projects and provide insights related to data analysis, report automation, and market analysis.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis – industry/sector analysis focused on MUFG clients and opportunities to increase and optimize business with them
• Organizing client data and trends – analyze internal data to identify client trends and present findings in reports
• Automation of reports – develop spreadsheets and macros to automate existing manual processes
• Technical analysis – work with macro data and charts to identify FX and Rates market trends for client presentations
• Business materials – assist in creating materials for internal or external stakeholders based on analysis

Qualifications & Requirements

• A “can do” attitude and an outgoing personality
• Ability to learn on the job and pick up concepts quickly
• Entrepreneurial spirit and pro-active approach
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong numeracy and report-writing skills
• Organizational skills
• JLPT N1 certification (or equivalent language proficiency) is beneficial for communicating with Japanese-speaking corporate clients
• Student pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related disciplines
• Working hours: 8:30am – 6:00pm

This internship role is based in Singapore and is open to Singaporean and PR students only. MUFG’s internship partners in Singapore include the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
