Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct EHS kick-off meetings prior to vessel arrival
  • Assist SRM/PM to monitor and control inherent hazards prior to work commencement
  • Perform hotwork and hazardous works certification
  • Assist SRM to organize VSCC meetings (acts as Secretary)
  • Maintain project EHS-related records
  • Coordinate the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system implementation
  • Update the vessel safety coordination board
  • Coordinate and inspect firefighting and rescue equipment deployed on vessels
  • Drive the implementation of the project EHS plan, accident prevention activities, and project risk management
  • Investigate accidents/incidents and near misses
  • Undertake performance appraisal of CSAs
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the Engineer (EHS) and Manager (EHS)

Requirements

  • Diploma related to EHS or any Engineering field
  • Hotwork Assessor Certification and Confined Space Assessor Certification are advantageous
  • Good understanding of the Workplace Safety & Health Act and Shipbuilding & Ship Repairs regulations
  • Good report writing, incident investigation, and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office for reporting and presentation purposes
