Responsibilities

  • Take on the role of EDC AES Engineer responsible for ship automation system design and for the Ship Management System (SMS) and its interfaces to platform system equipment and related control and monitoring logics, including basic and detail design:
    • SMS architecture
    • Generate I/O list
    • Review system functional descriptions from internal engineering trades and realize platform system automation, control logics, and monitoring in SMS
    • Perform integration of third-party equipment/systems with SMS
    • Perform room arrangement integration with internal engineering trades
    • Design control console and console panel layout arrangement
    • Design control room arrangement layout
  • Responsible for the functional design of safety and surveillance related systems, such as:
    • Propulsion control system (PCS)
    • Power management System (PMS)
    • Dynamic positioning system
    • CCTV system
    • Fire Detection System
  • Review vendors’ technical proposals to ensure solutions meet the functional requirement
  • Ensure contractual technical requirements and Classification requirements of automation-related design are fulfilled and aligned with the project schedule
  • Liaise with the client and other internal engineering trades for project coordination
  • Attend technical reviews and meetings with clients and vendors during project execution to ensure requirements are fulfilled, technical solutions are discussed, and technical issues are resolved

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Marine Electronics and Automation systems
  • Knowledge in computer networking, control instrumentation, and control system design
  • Knowledge of standard communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, RS422, RS485, NEMA, CANbus, J1939
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD for drafting purposes
  • Good interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team player
  • Good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronic or any related engineering field
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in Automation or Marine/offshore Industry

Location: 16 Benoi Road (Island-wide transport provided)

5 days work week

Working Hours: 7.25am to 5.00pm
