Graduate Platform Specialist

Position Overview

Platform Specialists at Squarepoint play a key technical role in delivering mission-critical platform infrastructure using the DevOps methodology. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain automated platform solutions and services used across the firm. You will design, monitor, and maintain platform infrastructure and automate everyday tasks with scripting and configuration management tools. Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain managed platform services, developer platforms, and automation APIs.
• Develop and implement infrastructure and platform automation, configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Ensure the availability and performance of the infrastructure and platform ecosystem.
• Design and implement scalable, highly available, and deterministic network solutions in multi-vendor enterprise environments (LAN, WAN, DC, Campus, and Cloud).
• Collaborate with researchers and developers as internal consultants to understand their needs and provide infrastructure and platform solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and develop with the team.
• Working knowledge of Python, Git, Bash, and Linux.
• Solid understanding of Linux and version control systems.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP concepts.

Nice to Have

• Experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
• Experience with modern software development tooling, such as GitLab, Artifactory, or Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience with HPC and orchestration technologies, such as Slurm or Kubernetes.
• Experience with databases and observability systems, such as Elasticsearch, Datadog, Prometheus, PostgreSQL.
• Exposure to maintaining and administering Linux, storage, and network infrastructure.
