Graduate Platform Specialist

Position Overview

Platform Specialists at Squarepoint play a critical technical role in delivering mission-critical platform infrastructure using DevOps methodologies. In this position, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain automated platform solutions and services used across the firm. You will design, monitor, and maintain platform infrastructure and automate everyday tasks with scripting and configuration management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain managed platform services, developer platforms, and automation APIs.
• Develop and implement infrastructure and platform automation, and perform configuration management using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Ensure the availability and performance of the infrastructure and platform ecosystem.
• Design and implement scalable, highly available, and deterministic network solutions in multi-vendor enterprise environments (LAN, WAN, DC, Campus, and Cloud).
• Collaborate with researchers and developers as internal consultants to understand their needs and provide infrastructure and platform solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Eagerness to continuously learn new technologies and grow with the company.
• Working knowledge of Python, Git, Bash, and Linux.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and version control systems.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP concepts.

Nice to Have

• Experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
• Experience with modern software development tooling, such as GitLab, Artifactory, or Docker.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with HPC and orchestration technologies, such as Slurm or Kubernetes.
• Experience with databases and observability systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, Datadog, Prometheus, PostgreSQL).
• Exposure to maintaining and administering Linux, storage, and network infrastructure.
