Equinix runs early-career hiring out of three distinct tracks tied to its data-centre and corporate-function business units:

• Critical Facilities Engineering Apprenticeship and SkillBridge trainee routes: separate pipelines for data-centre engineering and operations. The SkillBridge stream is reserved for U.S. military-transition candidates, and Equinix runs a published Q1 2026 military-talent cohort hire for Customer Support Data Center Technician and Critical Facilities Engineer roles across ten U.S. metros including El Segundo, Atlanta, Chicago, Ashburn and Seattle.

The three tracks do not share a single recruiting funnel. An applicant has to pick the lane that matches their target function before applying, because the corporate-function intern route never opens an onsite data-centre engineering seat and the SkillBridge cohort is closed to non-veterans.

By the firm's own figures it carries over 486,000 interconnections in 35 countries; independent reporting on its scale puts it at around 260 data centres across 33 countries, with 2025 revenue near US$9.2 billion. The early-career routes mirror that split: corporate-function interns sit in office-based teams, while data-centre operations and critical-facilities engineering are filled through separate apprenticeship and military-transition pipelines on the same careers site.

For an applicant, this makes Equinix a useful target only if the work itself – a corporate function inside a global infrastructure REIT, or hardware-adjacent data-centre operations – is what attracts them. It is not interchangeable with a hyperscaler or a cloud software vendor: the function set, the locations and the cadence of openings are visibly different on the same site.
