This full-time summer internship is intended for master’s students graduating between December 2027 and August 2028, who are pursuing a degree in computer science, business, or a related field. The internship is expected to last 8–12 weeks. Your responsibilities will span the end-to-end product development lifecycle: collecting user and market insights, tracking product metrics, refining user stories, and monitoring adoption. You will collaborate closely with engineering and design teams, developing a deep understanding of how high-performing product teams operate and building foundational skills to address complex, high-stakes product challenges. Your work will help solve some of the most complex and high-impact challenges facing clients. By collaborating across QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, and QuantumBlack Labs teams, you will help develop innovative AI and digital product capabilities and scalable enterprise solutions. Your contributions will directly support clients in accelerating AI adoption and solving complex business problems at scale. You will be based in our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, or New York office for an 8–12 week internship during the Summer of 2027 as part of our global Product community. Working across cross-functional teams, you will partner with data scientists, engineers, designers, and industry experts to deliver AI-enabled products. By engaging with clients from technical teams up to C-level executives, you will help solve problems that drive tangible business value while beginning your journey as a client-facing technologist. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow at the forefront of AI and product development. You will gain expertise at the intersection of technology and business by tackling diverse challenges in the evolving AI landscape, gaining a holistic understanding of how great products enable advanced AI while collaborating with leading technologists in the industry. ## Your Background - Currently pursuing a master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field, graduating between December 2027 and August 2028. - Experience in a product management or product analyst role, with exposure to digital and AI product development. - Ability to collect and organize user, market, and competitor insights to inform product decisions, track product metrics, and identify trends or issues in performance data. - Experience supporting product roadmap updates, organizing backlog items based on prioritization inputs, and contributing to product launches and adoption monitoring. - Familiarity with writing or refining user stories and acceptance criteria, tracking release progress, and identifying delivery risks and dependencies with guidance. - A data-driven mindset, capable of tracking and reporting core product metrics, supporting post-launch value tracking, and maintaining inputs for financial or operational reporting. - Developing familiarity with GenAI tools and prompt patterns, coupled with an eagerness to learn how emerging technologies can improve product discovery and delivery. - Comfort working alongside engineering teams and a willingness to build familiarity with technical delivery practices over time. - Exceptional time management skills required for meeting responsibilities in a complex and largely autonomous work environment. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and the local office language(s), with the ability to adjust your style for different audiences and seniority levels. ## Applying to this role This Product Analyst Intern - QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey role at McKinsey runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
