You will be part of a team producing high-quality fundamental research and ratings based on established criteria and benchmarks. Business Practice Groups include Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure. This is a dynamic 10-week summer training and development program beginning in June 2027, offering opportunities for growth, learning, and collaboration. - Assist S&P Global in its mission to provide high-quality risk evaluations and analytical insights to the world’s financial markets. - Gain an introduction to fundamental credit analysis by working with analytical teams within S&P Global Ratings, including participating in ratings committees and management meetings. - Complete a group project throughout the summer program and collaborate with peers to present research and conclusions to senior leaders. - At the end of the internship, interns may be considered for the 2028 CREDit graduate program. Learn more about the program through this video featuring the experience of a current CREDit graduate. ## Responsibilities ### Team Contribution and Capability Building - Support the team in deal execution and various analytical projects, contributing resourceful ideas during collaborative discussions. - Work with assigned summer intern project teams to complete and present findings and conclusions to senior leaders. ### Core Analytical and Delivery - Build capability in credit rating methodologies by learning and applying standard techniques. - Provide analysts with timely and accurate quarterly financial statistics and data analysis. - Support and help maintain high-quality research, presentations, reporting, and financial models. - Use AI technologies to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights, integrating them into existing analytical frameworks. ### Stakeholder and Market Engagement - Assist with preparing ratings committees and issuer management meetings to help develop clear narratives for engagement. - Develop a customer-oriented, solutions-focused mindset and learn from examples of service excellence. ### Risk Management and Operations - Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements. - Support pilot testing under supervision and within defined guardrails. ## What We’re Looking For ### Education and Eligibility - Postgraduate and undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study only. - Relevant academic backgrounds may include Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Public Policy, Quantitative Analysis, Data, and Statistics. - Candidates from diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking and storytelling are also welcome, including Engineering and Sciences, Philosophy, Politics, Classics, Theology, English Language, English Literature, and Languages. - You must reside in the internship location throughout the entire internship. - You must have the right to work in the country of proposed employment. ### Team Contribution and Capability Building - Collaborative and dependable teammate who manages priorities effectively and communicates clearly. - Strong problem-solving, time-management, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills. - Learning mindset and willingness to adopt new tools to enhance quality. - Ability to learn quickly, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment. ### Core Analytical and Delivery - Ability and desire to conduct independent analysis and research, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness. - Strong spreadsheet skills and willingness to learn data and automation tools that improve reliability and consistency. - Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. - Familiarity with AI technologies or tools, including machine learning algorithms, natural language processing tools, and/or robotic process automation. ### Stakeholder and Market Engagement - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research and analysis clearly and structurally to support informed decision-making. - Solutions-oriented mindset focused on providing service excellence to internal and external stakeholders. ### Risk Management and Operations - High standards for accuracy, traceability, and quality control aligned with the value of Integrity. - Responsible use of technology in accordance with policies, including protecting confidential information and ensuring that AI outputs are verified and appropriately attributed. ## Additional Information - Fluent English is essential, as is fluency in the primary language of the country of application. - Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week. - Final-stage candidates must attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended. ## About S&P Global Ratings At S&P Global Ratings, our analyst-driven credit ratings, research, and sustainable finance opinions provide critical insights that help market participants translate complexity into clarity, uncover opportunities, and make decisions with conviction.
