You will be part of a team that produces high-quality fundamental research and ratings based on established criteria. Our analytical practice groups include Corporates, Public Finance, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Sovereign and International Public Finance, and Infrastructure. This dynamic, 10-week summer training and development program begins in June 2027 and offers meaningful exposure to credit analysis, collaborative project work, and engagement with experienced professionals across the business. - Support S&P Global’s mission of providing high-quality risk evaluations and analytical insights to the world’s financial markets. - Gain an introduction to fundamental credit analysis while working alongside analytical teams within S&P Global Ratings, including participation in ratings committees and management meetings. - Complete a group project throughout the summer program, collaborating with peers and presenting research and conclusions to senior leaders. - Strong performers may be considered for the 2028 CREDit Graduate Program. For an overview of the program experience, visit this video. ## Responsibilities ### Team Contribution and Capability Building - Support the team in deal execution and analytical projects, contributing resourceful ideas during collaborative discussions. - Work with assigned summer intern project teams to complete and present research findings and conclusions to senior leaders. ### Core Analytical and Delivery - Build capability in credit rating methodologies by learning and applying standard analytical techniques. - Support analysts by providing timely and accurate quarterly financial statistics and data analysis. - Help maintain high-quality research, presentations, reporting, and financial models. - Use AI technologies responsibly to analyze datasets and derive actionable insights within established analytical frameworks. ### Stakeholder and Market Engagement - Assist with preparing materials for rating committees and issuer management meetings, helping produce clear, evidence-based narratives for stakeholder engagement. - Develop a client-oriented, solutions-focused mindset by observing and learning from service excellence in practice. ### Risk Management and Operations - Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently throughout the internship. - Support supervised piloting and testing of new tools within defined guidelines. ## Qualifications and Requirements ### Education - Current undergraduate or postgraduate student in the penultimate year of study. - Relevant academic backgrounds may include Accounting, Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Public Policy, Quantitative Analysis, Data, and Statistics. - We also welcome diverse academic backgrounds that support innovative and critical thinking and storytelling, including Engineering and Sciences, Philosophy, Politics, Classics, Theology, English Language, English Literature, and Languages. ### Team Contribution and Capability Building - Collaborative and dependable working style, with strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Learning mindset, comfort adopting new tools to enhance quality, and openness to different approaches to thinking and problem-solving. ### Core Analytical and Delivery - Ability and desire to conduct independent analysis and research, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to develop strong analytical skills. - Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with a willingness to develop data and automation capabilities. - Familiarity with AI tools and technologies, with an interest in their responsible and effective application within analytical workflows. ### Stakeholder and Market Engagement - Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research and analysis clearly and structurally to support informed decision-making. - Solutions-oriented mindset focused on providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. ### Risk Management and Operations - High standards for accuracy, traceability, and quality, with a commitment to responsible technology use, including protecting confidential information and verifying and appropriately attributing AI-generated outputs. ### Additional Information - Fluent English is required, including the ability to conduct meetings, collaborate effectively, and communicate clearly in writing and verbally. - Candidates must reside in the internship location throughout the entire program. - Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week. - Final-stage candidates will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended. - This role is limited to persons with an indefinite right to work in the United States. ## Compensation and Benefits _This section applies only to U.S. candidates._ The anticipated salary range for this position is $25 to $35 USD per hour. Final base salary will be based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
