The Authorisations Division is the initial point of contact for firms and individuals seeking to provide regulated financial services in the UK, responsible for making authorisation decisions to ensure applicants meet FCA standards.

We are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to support the Head of Department within our Banking & Insurance and Early & High Growth Oversight Department in Authorisations. This department has two functions: Banking & Insurance Authorisations, which handles applications for new banks, insurers, funeral plan providers, and insurance intermediaries; and Early & High Growth Oversight, which supervises firms in the early stages of regulation or those experiencing high growth.

## Role Responsibilities

    
- Providing a dedicated and professional service to the Head of Department (HoD), assembling and disseminating information, and progressing actions as appropriate.
    
- Monitoring emails, including the accurate recording and tracking of associated actions.
    
- Managing diary commitments, ensuring all schedules operate smoothly within time constraints and that associated arrangements (e.g., briefing requests) are handled efficiently.
    
- Managing meeting papers for the HoD, which includes coordinating briefings, managing the bring forward/pending system, and chasing actions from others if necessary.
    
- Preparing agendas for Management meetings and following up on resulting actions.
    
- Acting as the primary point of contact for the HoD, liaising with senior management and external stakeholders.
    
- Investigating issues and resolving queries (escalating or advising the HoD as appropriate) while ensuring full communication with relevant contacts and the Division.
    
- Coordinating departmental communications and managing ad hoc papers or presentations.

## Required Skills and Experience

### Minimum Requirements

    
- Experience working in a Personal Assistant capacity with well-developed organisational skills.
    
- Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
    
- Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, OneNote, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
