Learn more about career areas and business divisions at wellsfargojobs.com. ## Responsibilities - Demonstrate strong subject matter expertise within the Business & Information Services sector, possessing a solid understanding of key companies and industry dynamics. - Conduct rigorous analysis of financial statements and industry, company, and market datasets. - Create and update financial models and databases. - Author, with a Senior Analyst, differentiated research content on companies and industry themes. - Attend company and industry events; cultivate relationships with covered companies and industry contacts. - Communicate research conclusions to internal and external constituents. - Collaborate with research peers to support the generation of cross-sector research content. - Exercise independent judgment while developing knowledge of functions, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. - Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. ## Required Qualifications - 6+ months of Securities Investment research, financial services experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education. ## Desired Qualifications - A BS/BA or higher degree. - Direct experience in the Business & Information Services sector or prior equity research coverage of this industry. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment across all organizational levels, requiring flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability. - Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). - Knowledge and understanding of financial statement analysis. - Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles in the capital markets industry. - Knowledge and understanding of investment tools such as Bloomberg or FactSet application. - Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills. ## Job Expectations and Compliance - Up to 10% travel is required. - Visa sponsorship is not available. - Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment. Candidates must complete FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 63 (or 66), 86, and 87 examinations, or equivalent, within 90 or 180 days following commencement of employment, depending on immediate availability. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted; details will be provided upon offer acceptance. Registration for FINRA Series 65 or 66 must be completed before conducting Investment Advisory business. Adherence to state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory, and specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additionally, candidates must meet enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process upon offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the SIE exam co-requisite is required. - This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements; candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to hire. Individuals subject to statutory disqualification are ineligible for association with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, including periodic screening and mandatory incident reporting. - Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing.
