In this role, you'll join one of our Subscriptions teams in London, focused on the core proposition and working across our three subscription programmes: DashPass, Deliveroo Plus, and Wolt+. You'll work closely with engineering teams across the US and Europe as part of the Global Subscription organisation, building and evolving the shared subscription capabilities that power loyalty and membership experiences for millions of customers worldwide. You will move fast, ship iteratively, and collaborate with people who take craft seriously. ## AI-First Engineering - What This Means Here We are building teams at the forefront of agentic coding. This is beyond using Copilot for boilerplate; we expect engineers who: - Design workflows where AI agents handle entire task loops, from specification to pull request. - Think in terms of orchestration: defining what a human reviews versus what the agent owns. - Build internal tooling and abstractions to make AI-assisted development faster and more reliable for the entire team. - Stay curious and ahead of the curve, experimenting with new models, agents, and tools while forming strong opinions on genuine utility versus hype. If you find yourself naturally asking, "Can an agent do this?" before reaching for the keyboard, you will fit right in. ## What We're Looking For Across all Roles - Strong engineering fundamentals: You have built and shipped software that runs at scale, deeply understanding the requirements of testing, observability, reliability, and maintainability. - Genuine enthusiasm for AI-first development: You use AI tools daily and have formed concrete opinions on how to maximize their benefit. - Ownership mentality: You drive projects forward, communicate clearly across distributed teams and time zones, and take initiative. - Collaborative instincts: The Subscriptions domain requires cross-functional work as a norm, sitting at the intersection of consumer mobile, web, backend, and data. ## About You - You have built and shipped real software—products, platforms, APIs, or apps—and know what it takes to keep systems running reliably in production. You have architectural opinions but hold them lightly; you prioritize testing, monitoring alerts, and closing out loose ends. - What sets you apart is genuine excitement about the future of engineering. You have experimented with AI agents and agentic coding workflows not because you were told to, but because you were curious. You think about redesigning the development loop from first principles, not just applying AI as an additive layer. - You communicate well, collaborate easily across disciplines, and care about the product as much as the code.
