Interns have the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and contribute to meaningful projects while receiving mentorship from their respective managers throughout the summer. Interns may work within skills-based tracks across various fields, including: Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical or technical degree programs. ### Program Details - This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week). - Interns may be assigned to either a technical or a non-technical area. - Development workshops are provided to assist with transitioning from academia to the corporate environment. - Housing is not provided as part of the program. ## Essential Accountabilities Specific duties will vary based on assignment, with divisional callouts detailed below in the example for the Data Governance & AI Governance Intern role. - Support enterprise governance initiatives by assisting with program operations, data analysis, reporting, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement activities. - Work alongside the governance team to improve visibility, accountability, and effectiveness across governance programs, gaining exposure to data management, risk management, analytics, and emerging AI governance practices. - Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects. - Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications. - Perform a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business-related projects. - Create and deliver presentations upon completion of the internship. - Consistently demonstrate high integrity by supporting the company’s mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and living by the company's values. - Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy in accordance with company policies. - Maintain regular and reliable attendance. - Perform other functions as assigned by management. ## Minimum Qualifications ### Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: - Business & Management (e.g., Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management). - Computing Sciences & Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity). - Mathematics & Data Science (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science) or similar programs. ### Preferred Experience (Not Required): - Ability to work with large datasets and organize information. - Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting concepts. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to document processes and procedures clearly. - Experience with process improvement methodologies. - Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/dashboard tools. - Knowledge of data governance, data management, or AI governance concepts. - Familiarity with metadata, data quality, data lineage, or data catalogs. - Project management and stakeholder coordination skills. ### General Requirements: - High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program). - Must be in good academic standing. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences at all company levels. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work. - Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers. - Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. - Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks. - Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning. - Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and using a desktop computer in a professional environment. ## Physical Requirements - Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time. - Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed. ## Compensation and Compliance ### Compensation Range (Level I) Minimum: $18.00 - Maximum: $20.00 The stated salary range reflects the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary depends on factors including, but not limited to, budget availability, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education related to the minimum qualifications, as well as internal equity.
