Interns will receive mentorship from their respective managers and will continue to develop throughout the summer. Interns may participate in skills-based tracks, including, but not limited to: Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical degree programs. ### Internship Details - This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week). - Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area. - Development workshops are provided to aid in the transition from school to the corporate environment. - Housing is not provided as part of this program. ## Essential Accountabilities (Behavioral Health Provider Relations Intern Focus) - Specific duties will vary by assignment; divisional callouts are detailed below. - Partner with Provider Clinical Trainers to research and develop content for new provider training programs. - Participate in training sessions, assist with day-to-day training activities, and work directly with providers to support engagement and education initiatives. - Shadow Provider Relations Representatives, Case Managers, and Contracting staff to gain a comprehensive understanding of departmental roles and the importance of collaboration in supporting providers and delivering high-quality behavioral health services. - Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects. - Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications. - Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business projects. - Create and deliver presentations upon completion of the internship. - Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the company's mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and upholding the Lifetime Way values. - Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy in accordance with company policies. - Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. - Perform other functions as assigned by management. ## Minimum Qualifications ### Desired Academic Background and Experience - Desired Majors/Degree Programs include: Psychology, Social Worker, Human Services, or similar programs. - Preferred experience (not required): Customer Service, Presenting/Public Speaking, PowerPoint, Excel, & Word. - A High School diploma along with proof of continuous full-time college enrollment (undergraduate or graduate degree program). ### Skills and Abilities - Must be in good academic standing. - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all organizational levels. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work. - Ability to work well in a team and establish positive working relationships with peers. - Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. - Exhibit a proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility when completing assigned tasks. - Commitment to continuous self-improvement of skills and team functioning. - Self-motivated and capable of working independently, as well as within intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed. - Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and using a desktop computer in a professional environment. ## Physical Requirements - Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation, viewing a computer, and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time. - Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed. ## Compensation and Legal Information **Compensation Range (Level I):** Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00 The salary range indicates the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, budget availability, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education related to the minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity.
