Participants have the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and contribute to meaningful projects while being mentored by their respective managers throughout the summer. Interns may participate in tracks across various fields, including but not limited to: Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical or technical degree programs. ### Program Details - This is a paid 10-week summer internship, running from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week). - Interns may be placed in either a technical or non-technical area. - Development workshops are provided to facilitate the transition from academic life to the corporate environment. - Housing is not provided as part of this program. ## Essential Accountabilities - Specific duties will vary based on assignment; specific divisional callouts are provided below. - **Innovation & AI Interns:** Work in cross-functional teams to identify, design, and develop AI-driven solutions that address real business challenges aligned with the organization's strategic priorities. Interns engage with business stakeholders, research emerging technologies, build proofs of concept, and iteratively refine solutions using user feedback. They gain hands-on experience with AI, software development, and product design following a structured innovation process, culminating in presentations to senior leaders. Successful projects may advance into pilot or production initiatives. - Work with a mentor to support key strategic projects. - Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications. - Perform a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks covering a broad range of business-related projects. - Create and deliver presentations upon completion of the internship. - Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the company’s mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and upholding the Lifetime Way values and beliefs. - Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy in accordance with company policies. - Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. - Perform other functions as assigned by management. ## Minimum Qualifications ### Desired Majors/Degree Programs: - Computing Sciences & Information Technology (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.); Mathematics & Data Science (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, etc.) or similar programs. ### Preferred Experience: - Any projects or coursework related to Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Large Language models, or transformers (not required). ### General Requirements: - High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program). - Must be in good academic standing. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all organizational levels. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering high-quality work product. - Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships with peers. - Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. - Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks. - Commitment to the continuous improvement of skills and team functioning. - Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter-departmental teams as needed. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. - Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment. ## Physical Requirements - Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time. - Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed. ## Compensation and Employment Information **Compensation Range:** Level I - Minimum $18.00 - Maximum $20.00 The salary range listed represents the minimum and maximum for this position. Actual salary depends on factors including, but not limited to, the budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education relative to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted range is one component of the total rewards package, which may include group health/dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
