Join an inclusive team that inspires excellence, delivers meaningful impact, and empowers you to shape your future. ## Advisory Intern KPMG is currently seeking an Advisory Intern for our Advisory practice. ## Responsibilities - Help identify, gather, and analyze relevant data to support investigations into suspected accounting irregularities, fraudulent financial reporting, bribery, corruption, and regulatory non-compliance. - Assist with legal, economic, and financial research and perform financial data analyses to help resolve regulatory disputes and quantify damages. - Support financial institutions and FinTech clients with risk management by assisting in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Fraud transaction monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews, and Sanctions program assessments. - Identify internal controls within business processes, conduct cyclical internal control testing, and perform analytical reviews of key client processes and their connection to IT systems. - Complete quantitative and qualitative analyses related to fraud, forensics, insider threats, and supply chain risks using various data analytic tools, and visualize the results to identify performance improvement opportunities. - Collect critical information through system queries, internal/external research, and by participating in interviews with engagement stakeholders, while assisting senior team members in working directly with counsel. - Support the design, preparation, and review of written deliverables—such as reports, tables, charts, and presentations (using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and/or SQL)—ensuring findings are communicated to client leadership in a clear, logical, and concise manner. ## Qualifications ### Education and Academic Requirements - Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, or an equivalent program. - Must be pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business (the state in which the office is located) (completion of academic credits is required prior to starting as an Advisory Associate). - Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements. - Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above. ### Skills and Competencies - Fluency with artificial intelligence concepts and tools, with the ability to apply AI techniques to analyze and interpret data, using insights to solve problems, and effectively communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Exposure and competency with popular programming software and risk analytical tools such as SAS, R, QRM, Bancware, MATLAB, Stata, Statistics, Python, Tableau, Derivative Solutions, C++, or Visual Basic is a plus. - Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic, evolving environment. - Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to apply professional judgment and skepticism, manage priorities across multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality work in a professional services capacity. ## Work Conditions and Legal Requirements - Must reside within a commutable distance of the office for this position and be responsible for own transportation to and from office/client locations as determined by practice leadership. - Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need; if working remotely, you must be located within the U.S.; client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stays. - Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
