Responsibilities include problem-solving, consulting, and fact-finding for active cases, as well as contributing to internal practice initiatives (such as recruiting, business development, and service offering innovation). This role provides exposure to numerous stages of a forensic consulting engagement across complex issues, including bribery and corruption, fraud, money laundering, disputes, litigation, corporate compliance, and data breach response. Associates collaborate closely with experienced team members who offer direction, coaching, and mentorship opportunities. ## Job Duties - Provide data analytics services to various clients, including outside counsel, regulators, and companies involved in litigation, investigation, dispute, regulatory, and compliance matters. - Contribute to forensic engagements related to fraud, anti-money laundering, insurance risks, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), disputes, and other relevant matters. - Develop working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively. - Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes by forensically extracting, cleaning, transforming, and analyzing large datasets for in-depth data analytics. - Perform analyses and take ownership of assigned workstreams from data gathering through documentation and final delivery, preparing high-quality, accurate client deliverables and insights. - Maintain professionalism and integrity when handling confidential and sensitive information. - Employ a proactive and logical approach to information gathering, identifying potential issues and anomalies while presenting complex information clearly and effectively. - Identify and research new trends and tools, gaining understanding of the data analytics marketplace while supporting client engagements. - Develop expertise in technical programs such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, R, and Python. - Assist in developing documents, procedures, and solutions for non-billable practice development initiatives. - Work on international projects that may require domestic and/or international travel. - Audit both own work product and the work of other team members to ensure quality. - Perform other duties as required. ## Supervisory Responsibilities - N/A ## Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ### Education - Bachelor’s degree is required; a focus in Accounting, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Information Systems is preferred. ### Experience - Leadership experience is preferred. ### License/Certification - N/A ### Software and Technical Skills - Understanding of relational databases, preferably SQL Server. - Experience with Python, R, and/or other programming languages or tools is preferred. - Experience querying structured and unstructured data, cleaning and profiling datasets, building repeatable analytics, and visualizing results is preferred. - Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) is preferred. - Familiarity with agentic AI tools and AI-driven workflow automation is preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is preferred. ### Languages - Fluency in one or more languages other than English is preferred. ### Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Ability to work with a high degree of professionalism and autonomy. - Demonstrated curiosity and coachability, with a willingness to learn and develop skills in technical programs. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of methods, procedures, and processes. - Ability to translate complex data into simple, concise business observations. - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet project deadlines and maintain close attention to detail. - Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment. - Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm. - Ability to work collaboratively with others while maintaining accountability for personal work product. ## Compensation and Culture Individual salaries offered are determined after consideration of numerous factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. **Salary Ranges:** - California Range: $85,000 - $90,000 - Colorado Range: $73,000 - $77,000 - Illinois Range: $78,000 - $87,000 - Maryland Range: $83,000 - $87,000 - Massachusetts Range: $83,000 - $87,000 - Minnesota Range: $70,000 - $74,000 - New Jersey Range: $78,000 - $82,000 - NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $83,000 - $87,000 - Virginia Range: $78,000 - $82,000 - Washington Range: $68,000 - $78,000 - Washington DC Range: $83,000 - $87,000 At BDO, we build strong relationships by supporting one another, our clients, and our communities with care, curiosity, and a commitment to helping one another grow and succeed.
