This group also catalyzes new business opportunities and solutions that contribute to sustainable development, advances thought leadership on sustainability topics, and supports our growth as a sustainable organization to create shared value aligned with our mandate of generating sustainable returns over the long term. ### The Sustainability Group Sub-teams The Sustainability Group comprises the following sub-teams, partnering with the investment group and functional teams to strengthen our sustainability capabilities and ecosystem: - **Sustainability Strategy:** Advance our strategy and policy towards net zero, nature positive, and inclusive growth and drive institutional and community-related sustainability initiatives. - **Sustainable Solutions:** Drive decarbonization in portfolio companies and unlock new investment opportunities in Sustainable Living trends by identifying emerging thematics and catalyzing innovative solutions. - **ESG Investment Management (ESG IM):** Advance ESG integration across our investment process, including portfolio engagement, to help strengthen long-term portfolio resiliency and value creation. - **Ecosperity:** Accelerate systems-change by harnessing our Ecosperity platform to drive year-round engagements, thought leadership, and advocacy. ## ESG Investment Management Focus ESG Investment Management partners closely with our global investment teams and portfolio companies to advance ESG practices and sustainable outcomes, directly contributing to Temasek’s efforts in building a resilient and forward-looking portfolio. This involves: - In-depth pre-investment due diligence of investment targets to manage ESG risks and identify opportunities for sustainability leadership. - Driving climate transition strategy and progress towards our portfolio 2030 and 2050 emissions reduction goals. - Post-investment engagement with portfolio companies to drive value creation by providing strategic guidance, reviewing targets, and facilitating knowledge exchange. - Developing thematic and sectoral frameworks as part of institutional capability building. - Leveraging ESG data and analytics for portfolio assessment and monitoring to improve resiliency. ## Responsibilities The role will require: - Performing in-depth ESG research to support (1) ESG due diligence on new investment targets, (2) the development/enhancement of internal frameworks, and (3) the building of institutional knowledge on the evolving ESG landscape. - Evaluating portfolio companies' sustainability performance by assessing their overall ESG maturity, climate transition readiness, practices on other material topics, and exploring opportunities for ESG value creation. - Contributing to Temasek's climate leadership by analyzing carbon emissions performance and trends for Temasek and our portfolio. - Supporting the development and maintenance of critical dashboards and tools. - Providing flexible support on emerging priorities and ad-hoc projects as needed. ## Requirements - Must be able to commit full-time for a minimum of 20 weeks.
