Posted 2026-09-03; applications close 2026-11-02. **Apply**: https://www.phillip.com.sg/sg/careers/intern-operations-compliance/ Posted 23d ago. ## Role details ## Internship at the Phillip Innovation Centre At the Phillip Innovation Centre, you will design and build an AI workflow agent for Symphony Digital Assets’ (SDA) Operations & Compliance function—not just use one. A colleague successfully built a similar tool (AgentFIXBPRO) for their workflow by taking a single, repeated problem from idea to working prototype in about two weeks, heavily leveraging AI for the build. You will apply this approach to an Operations workflow at SDA (such as client onboarding, KYC checks, or transaction monitoring follow-ups) or a Compliance workflow, beginning with Singapore MAS requirements for Digital Payment Token Services and extending as SDA grows. AgentFIXBPRO interprets incoming updates, retrieves the relevant project record, applies domain rules, and proposes an action or status change, while a human remains responsible for the final decision. You contribute the operational and compliance problem domain judgment; AI-assisted development tools help turn that into a working prototype. You will receive structured onboarding and support from experienced team members as you build. Given the high stakes of errors in compliance, human review of any agent proposal is a non-negotiable design element. ## About Us Symphony is our digital asset platform, developed as part of our effort to create digital asset infrastructure in Asia. We focus on solving practical problems in digital finance and delivering scalable solutions across several key areas: - **Digital Asset Security:** Developing robust solutions to safely store and manage digital assets. - **Tokenisation of Securitised Assets:** Enabling securitised assets to be issued, managed, and distributed more efficiently through digital infrastructure. - **Automated Settlements:** Streamlining processes to improve liquidity and expand access across investor channels. ## What You Will Work On As an intern, you will support operational work across the platform and build the following projects: - **Client Onboarding & KYC:** Support account opening, KYC/AML documentation checks, and client due diligence in adherence with regulatory requirements (this is the workflow your agent will be built around). - **Regulatory Research & Mapping:** Research MAS (and other relevant regulators’) requirements applicable to SDA’s digital asset business, mapping them against SDA’s existing and planned policies (this constitutes the required domain knowledge for your agent). - **Build an Operations Workflow Agent:** Design and build (using AI-assisted "vibe coding" tools) an agent based on AgentFIXBPRO’s architecture. This agent must interpret operational updates (e.g., client emails, internal messages), retrieve the correct account or project record, apply team rules, and propose a status update or next action for human review. - **Build a Compliance Workflow Agent:** Design and build (using AI-assisted "vibe coding" tools) an agent based on AgentFIXBPRO’s architecture. This agent must read a regulatory update or drafting request, retrieve relevant policy text and past decisions, apply SDA’s house drafting rules, and propose draft language or a compliance flag for human review. - **Knowledge Base & Rules:** Structure the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), playbooks, and milestone definitions that the agent needs as its "knowledge" base, ensuring its proposals align with actual SDA Operations practices. - **AI Knowledge Base Build-Out:** Structure regulations, internal policies, and past compliance decisions into the knowledge base that your agent uses for searching and citing, and verify its draft outputs against the source regulation for accuracy. - **Testing & Iteration:** Test your agent against controlled, real-world operational scenarios, correct any unsafe or erroneous proposals, and refine the boundary between automated suggestions and mandatory human approval—reliability is achieved through iteration. - **Cross-Team Coordination:** Collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance teams to ensure the agent’s outputs remain consistent with actual operational and regulatory requirements. ## Who We Are Looking For We seek students keen on developing operational and problem-solving skills. Ideal candidates will: - Be currently studying Business, Banking & Finance, Information Systems, Operations Management, Computer Science, or a closely related field. - Be organized and detail-oriented: comfortable with documentation, checklists, and maintaining data accuracy. - Be proactive builders, not just users, of AI tools: Comfortable experimenting with AI-assisted ("vibe coding") development tools to progress an idea into a working prototype. A deep software engineering background is not required, but curiosity and a willingness to learn by doing are essential. - Understand that AI proposes, humans decide: You must design your agent so that it drafts or suggests an action, but a final human review and approval step is always incorporated before becoming the operational record. - Have an interest in blockchain, digital assets, and cryptocurrency. - Work well in a team, take ownership of assigned tasks, and thrive in a fast-moving environment.
