## Responsibilities

    
- Perform tax-related tasks, including compliance, advising, and planning for clients in various industries, including multistate and multinational enterprises (partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations).
    
- Participate in data analytics assignments using KPMG technology, creating tax return work papers and tax returns for clients, and coordinating offshore resources.
    
- Conduct tax due diligence to identify potential tax exposures and opportunities.
    
- Assist multistate companies with state and local tax issues, covering compliance, advising, planning, and controversy management.
    
- Advise multinational enterprises on:
        

            
- Business decisions, such as optimal location and operation, entity choice, supply chain optimization, and accessing capital for global operations.
            
- Tax planning decisions, including helping clients anticipate short- and long-term considerations while managing multinational tax risk profiles, global effective tax rates, and cash posture.
        

    
    
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team on assignments while sustaining excellent client relationships.
    
- Build capabilities in key technologies enabling tax professionals, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.

## Qualifications

### Required Qualifications

    
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree/major in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, information technology, data and analytics, engineering (financial, industrial, or systems), or an equivalent program.
    
- Completion of at least one college-level accounting course is required at the time of application.
    
- Strong technical, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills.
    
- Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach in a dynamic environment.
    
- Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to learn and navigate technologies (e.g., AI, Alteryx, Power BI, MS Office Suite) to enhance tax processes and insights.
    
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; must be feedback-oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
    
- Ability to reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to moderately located work sites using personal transportation or public transit.
    
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, potentially with short notice.
    
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. (KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visas.)

### Preferred Qualifications

    
- Degree or area of study in Accounting or Taxation.
    
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
    
- Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics.
    
- Pursuing educational requirements for CPA licensure in the principal place of business (completion of academic credits required prior to starting as a Tax Associate).
    
- Candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements upon internship completion.

## Compensation and Benefits

KPMG LLP and its affiliates comply with all local and state regulations regarding salary range disclosure. Any offered salary is determined based on applicant skills, job responsibilities, prior experience, relevant degrees/certifications, and market considerations. KPMG offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package, including medical/dental plans, vision coverage, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plans, and personal well-being benefits. Personal Time Off and holiday calendars are provided based on classification and service years.

    
- **California Salary Range:** $80,000 - $100,000
