Valuation professionals at KPMG provide clients robust and informed guidance on valuation matters across multiple sectors, deal stages, and business needs. We determine the fair market value of equity shares, assets, or complex financial instruments for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, tax, and other regulatory standards. Our engagements include providing pre and post-deal Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Impairment Testing, employee or management incentive scheme valuations, and recurring fund valuations. As a member of our diverse team, you will help high-profile clients understand, analyze, and respond to complex business opportunities and challenges. KPMG is currently seeking an Intern to join our Economic and Valuation Services practice.

## Responsibilities

    
- Assist with the valuation analysis of real property, including report preparation, proposal development, and executive presentations for financial reporting, tax, mark-to-market, or business planning purposes.
    
- Collaborate with senior team members on client deliverables, gaining exposure to a wide range of real estate asset classes.
    
- Perform market research and property inspections as required, both domestically and abroad, to support the valuation process.
    
- Read, abstract, and analyze leases related to commercial real estate transactions.
    
- Assist KPMG audit teams in a review capacity as real estate specialists, reviewing third-party or internally developed valuations.
    
- Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.

## Qualifications

    
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or equivalent program.
    
- Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits required to obtain their degree and/or CPA eligibility.
    
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
    
- Coursework or minor in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or data and analytics is preferred.
    
- Demonstrated interest in real estate markets and property valuation; basic understanding of real estate finance concepts and ARGUS is a plus.
    
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel-based modeling, including basic formulas, look-up functions, and cash flow modeling; proficiency with shortcuts, VBA, and data visualization is a plus.
    
- Strong technical acumen, business acumen, critical thinking, and agility skills. Demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment.
    
- Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI, MS Office Applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook), and apply emerging technologies to enhance tax processes and insights.
    
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; feedback oriented and resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
    
- Applicant must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation (personal vehicle or public transportation).
    
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.

**Compensation and Benefits:**

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations. **California Salary Range:** $80000 - $85500
