Amazon is looking for a talented Vendor Manager (VM) responsible for managing vendor relationships and setting the strategic direction for their business on the Worldwide Grocery Category team. The ideal candidate possesses experience in buying, marketing, and/or finance; with a track record of successful relationship management, strong analytical acumen, and experience generating and managing reporting and analysis. Great communication skills and a strong understanding of Excel will be essential to your success. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to a successful result. ## Key Responsibilities Our environment is fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous; this requires someone who is flexible, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with multiple teams, vendors, partners, and management. On a day-to-day basis, you will: - Drive strategic negotiations with vendors and represent Amazon when meeting with vendor partners and their leadership. - Develop long-term strategies and significantly influence cross-category plans—delivering on Amazon's goals and objectives while obsessing over Customers. - Work cross-functionally, both within Amazon and with your assigned vendors. - Implement scalable, simple, and automated solutions to address Customer pain points and drive results. - Create opportunities for growth, customer acquisition, and brand-building. - Audit metrics regularly, determine and prioritize business opportunities, identify risks, and make recommendations to deliver results. - Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth. ## About the Team The Worldwide Grocery Category Management team is responsible for selection decisions and vendor relationships for the grocery category across all Amazon banners. Our team focuses on creating exceptional shopping experiences that transform how customers discover and purchase perishable goods from Amazon. We are passionate about building compelling assortments, optimizing the customer journey, and developing strategic partnerships with vendors to drive category growth. Our team strives to deliver exceptional value to customers while driving business results through data-driven decision making. ## Qualifications ### Basic Qualifications - 1+ years of account management, project, or program management, or buying experience. - Bachelor's degree. - Experience in financial analysis, retail buying, retail planning & allocation, product/project management, marketing, business development, consulting, negotiation, or supply chain. ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, SQL, or HTML. - Experience working with clients. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
