Working in an agile environment, you will translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories and testable solutions, connecting product, development, quantitative, dealing and vendor teams from gap analysis through to delivery. ## Role and Responsibilities - Work with product, business analysis and development teams to analyse, collate and produce business requirements, including gap analysis for a range of project and product initiatives. - Focus on pricing and risk front-office application development, communicating effectively with software developers, quantitative analysts, dealing desks, internal stakeholders and external vendors. - Capture business requirements, produce software requirements specifications and define testing requirements suitable for iterative development within an agile framework. - Support the management of the development lifecycle once features are in development, including assisting the Lead Business Analyst with monitoring the development team, tracking user story status and contributing to project and iteration plans. - Maintain high-quality documentation for developed system features to support risk assessment and auditing purposes. - Communicate the impact of proposed changes to business and product teams to help determine their impact and delivery timeframes. - Support user-training activities and maintain related documentation. - Keep the Lead Business Analyst informed of escalations, issues and ad hoc changes as soon as they arise, seeking assistance and guidance where necessary to mitigate project risks at an early stage. - Support other members of the Business Analysis community and collaborate to achieve CMC Group business objectives. ## General Responsibilities - Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training. - Provide clients and colleagues with a clear, fair and consistently high-quality service that reflects all CMC Group values. - Undertake other duties, training and hours of work as may be reasonably required and that are consistent with the general level of responsibility of the role. ## Key Skills and Experience - Financial services experience is essential. Knowledge of FX spot trading and exchange-traded products, including related platforms for equities, futures and options, is highly advantageous. Understanding of spread betting and/or CFD trading is beneficial. - Strong commercial experience as a Business Analyst embedded within a technology team. - Experience conducting and supporting testing activities is advantageous. - Proven experience applying agile software development methodologies is essential. - Good working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Miro and Excel is essential. Knowledge of SQL is advantageous. - Experience using AI tools to support analysis is advantageous. - Team player with the ability to work independently while supporting the Lead Business Analyst. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of small tasks. ### Hands-On Skills - Ability to produce detailed business requirements, configuration management specifications, epics and user stories to a high standard is essential. - Comfortable contributing to technical and design discussions with product, development and business analysis teams. - Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work at a fast pace under challenging deadlines. ### Communication Skills - Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of a project and with senior stakeholders. - Ability to communicate with development and testing teams at a technical level. - Ability to build strong professional relationships across the business to enable cross-functional collaboration. - Ability to present new ideas and challenge existing processes where appropriate. ## Applying to this role This Junior Business Analyst role at CMC Markets runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
