The project leverages data analytics, digital tools, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance failure analysis efficiency, improve knowledge management, and accelerate engineering decision-making. The intern will learn how Electrical Failure Analysis and Physical Failure Analysis techniques are employed to identify the root causes of product and process issues across memory technologies in a high-volume manufacturing environment. ## Project Objectives - Develop a digital or AI-enabled solution that improves failure analysis workflow efficiency. - Apply data analytics and visualization tools to enhance laboratory process visibility. - Explore automation opportunities that improve engineering productivity and knowledge accessibility. - Develop an understanding of how failure analysis contributes to product quality and manufacturing excellence. ## Project Scope - Analyze laboratory operational metrics, turnaround-time trends, and relevant engineering datasets. - Develop dashboards, automation tools, or knowledge-management solutions for selected failure analysis workflows. - Explore Micron-qualified Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and AI Assistant tools for knowledge retrieval, reporting, and workflow efficiency. - Collaborate with Test Engineering stakeholders to understand failure analysis requirements and validate proposed solutions. ## Learning Opportunities - Learn about semiconductor device structures, packaging technologies, and memory manufacturing processes. - Gain exposure to Electrical Failure Analysis and Physical Failure Analysis techniques used in root-cause investigations. - Apply data analytics and visualization tools to laboratory operational metrics and engineering datasets. - Explore automation technologies using Python, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, or other Micron-qualified digital tools. - Strengthen technical communication by presenting project findings and recommendations to engineering stakeholders. ## Deliverables - A digital or AI-enabled solution that improves a selected failure analysis workflow. - A dashboard, automation tool, or knowledge-management solution that enables faster data-driven decision-making. - An assessment of improvements in productivity, process visibility, or engineering effectiveness. - Final project documentation and presentation summarizing the methodology, findings, outcomes, and recommendations. ## Project Impact - Improve visibility and efficiency within selected failure analysis workflows. - Enable faster access to relevant engineering data and technical knowledge. - Enhance engineering decision-making through data analytics and AI-enabled insights. - Identify opportunities for continued laboratory digitalization and automation. ## Required Skillsets and Qualifications - Basic programming knowledge in Python, Structured Query Language, or a similar language. - Familiarity with data analytics, data visualization, automation tools, or workflow development. - Interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and AI-enabled engineering applications. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. - Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and workflow platforms is advantageous. ## Educational Requirements & Commitment **Course of Interest:** The ideal candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field of study. **Duration of Period:** The ideal candidate should be able to commit to a full-time internship period of 5 months from January to June 2027. ## Career Opportunities High-performing interns who demonstrate strong technical capability, learning agility, and successful project outcomes may be considered for future internship or full-time employment opportunities within Micron’s engineering organization, subject to business needs and hiring requirements. ## About Micron Technology, Inc.
