## Background

The European Infrastructure Finance team operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role offers varied and interesting responsibilities with a steep learning curve, providing exposure to the breadth of evolving Infrastructure markets.

The infrastructure team is active across numerous multi-faceted sectors, including Transport assets (Ports, Rail, Airports), Transmission Networks, District Heating, and increasingly Digital and value-add infrastructure, covering a substantial part of the Infrastructure market. This team holds a significant market presence within one of North America's most active banks in the European capital deployment perspective.

## Purpose of Job

The Analyst will utilize a broad range of analytical and research skills to support all professionals within the Corporate Banking group. The core mandate is to execute opportunities that support and expand client relationships within the European Infrastructure sectors.

## Main Objectives & Requirements of the Role

    
- Assist in executing all facets of the group’s mandates.
    
- Assist with the review of due diligence and legal documentation, including coordinating questions/comments and interfacing with external independent advisers (e.g., technical, commercial, financial, insurance, and legal).
    
- Assist senior colleagues in preparing detailed documents, such as business proposals, memoranda, credit and business approval requests, loan recommendations, and company information reports for various purposes.
    
- Assist in preparing presentations and liaising with colleagues across the Bank (e.g., Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, and Trading Floor) to coordinate and prepare ad hoc pitch books.
    
- Lead the modelling workstream for debt advisory and coordination pitches and mandates.
    
- Assist with desktop ratings analysis using external rating agency methodologies (S&P, Moody’s, Fitch, KBRA, and DBRS).
    
- Prepare amendment and waiver requests and undertake annual reviews for existing Borrowers.
    
- Take responsibility for both quantitative and qualitative client analysis and industry research.
    
- Maintain the group’s databases on a current basis, including electronic records and regular administrative reports.
    
- Be responsible for defined internal processes, including generating internal credit ratings, assessing deal economics, and KYC/compliance adherence.
    
- Establish a peer network across the Bank to ensure inter-departmental collaboration and gather relevant information; also attend investor presentation days and client meetings to support senior colleagues over time.
    
- Must be able to accept flexibility in personal time commitments to complete daily and weekly work assignments.

This role is challenging and fast-paced, requiring dedication and enthusiasm to learn about the diverse infrastructure sectors, a genuine interest in the covered clients, and a proactive work ethic.

## Skills & Knowledge Required

    
- Undergraduate degree preferred (but not essential) in finance, economics, engineering, or another complementary discipline.
    
- Debt advisory experience, particularly building financial models from scratch (including the financing tab) and performing sensitivity analysis as part of the credit assessment and underwriting process.
    
- Experience working with one of the top three credit rating agencies (S&P, Moody’s, or Fitch), or relevant ratings advisory experience supporting clients through the ratings process.
    
- Knowledge of business, accounting, economics, and/or finance acquired through education or experience.
    
- Strong technical skills and computer literacy (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg).
    
- A service-oriented approach when dealing with internal colleagues, product partners, and external clients and advisers.
    
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to clearly and succinctly explain detailed analytical results. As experience grows, defend recommendations to internal business and credit committees.
    
- Ability to perform well within a demanding and dynamic team environment.
    
- Proactive attitude and a strong ability to multitask across diverse work types, from written reports to financial modeling, across different clients and sectors/businesses.
    
- Demonstrated proficiency in the assessment of unstructured problems.
    
- Superior analytical and quantitative skills.
    
- Output-driven with strong attention to detail and a clear sense of accountability.
    
- A proven academic track record.
