## Associate Sample Coordinator

Our PPD® Laboratory Services team plays a direct role in improving patient health through the expertise of scientists and industry thought-leaders. As the world leader in serving science, we deliver groundbreaking innovations with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and quality.

The Sample Coordinator performs various sample and standard handling tasks to support the laboratory. This role requires following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and responding to laboratory staff requests with minimal supervision, assisting in procedure adherence, and possessing a basic understanding of the overall sample/standard process.

In the last five years, we have supported the top 50 pharmaceutical companies and over 750 biotech firms across 2,700 clinical trials in 100+ countries.

## What You'll Do

    
- Perform a variety of sample and standard tasks, including receipt, check-in, login, labeling, launching, inventory, transport, and check-out, while assisting in the physical return and disposal of materials.
    
- Communicate the status of samples and standards to appropriate laboratory staff.
    
- Guide and advise laboratory staff on proper sample and standard procedures.
    
- Complete investigation and deviation forms as necessary and determine appropriate Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
    
- Review and provide feedback on laboratory requests, ensuring compliance with applicable SOPs.
    
- Train on SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and storage requirements; respond to environmental unit alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities.
    
- Perform all work assignments accurately, timely, and safely.

## Important Role Information

    
- This role is focused specifically on sample management and handling and does not involve laboratory testing or analytical responsibilities.
    
- This is an entry-level position within a laboratory environment, ideal for candidates looking to start or grow a career in laboratory operations.

## Work Schedule and Location

    
- Candidates must be willing to work 5 days per week, based on the assigned schedule, which includes weekends and holidays.
    
- Available morning shifts are: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
    
- Office Location: 61 The Galen, Science Park Rd.

## Education and Experience Requirements

    
- High or Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic or vocational qualification.
    
- A certificate may be required for technical positions.
    
- Previous relevant experience (comparable to at least 2 years) or an equivalent combination of education and training is required.

## Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    
- Basic knowledge of inventory flow and control.
    
- Knowledge of laboratory and regulatory requirements (documentation, sample storage).
    
- Ability to write and review SOPs and process improvement outlines.
    
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
    
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
    
- Effective time management and project management skills.
    
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
