We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to support Amazon Advertising’s strategic decision-making by transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive product innovation and business growth. ## Key Responsibilities - Work closely with Product Managers, Finance, Engineering, and Data Engineering teams to develop business intelligence and analytics solutions that measure the performance of new and existing products and identify opportunities for improvement. - Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues. - Lead ad hoc deep-dive investigations into customer journeys to identify issues and surface improvement opportunities. - Own the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines, metrics, reports, visualizations, analyses, and dashboards that support business decisions. - Partner with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and scientists to develop mechanisms for measuring the performance of complex projects, including a unified generative AI solution designed to enhance the customer experience. - Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize and adopt applications within the AWS ecosystem. - Migrate dashboards to new visualization tools, conduct thorough testing, deploy the new tools, and train users on the updated visualization platform. ## A Day in the Life Your day will include data exploration and strategic storytelling. You will analyze large datasets, uncover patterns, and translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable insights. You will also design data pipelines and create visualizations that connect raw data with strategic decision-making. ## About the Team The Advertising Finance team is a collaborative group of innovators working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and leadership to shape the future of digital advertising. The team’s mission is to generate insights that measure performance and transform how advertising ecosystems are understood and optimized. ## Basic Qualifications - At least one year of experience analyzing and interpreting data using technologies such as Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL. - Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, or similar platforms. - Experience with one or more analytics and visualization tools, such as Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, or Power BI. - Experience with statistical methods such as t-tests and chi-squared tests. - Experience with a scripting language such as Python, Java, or R. - Bachelor’s degree. ## Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree or advanced technical degree. - Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design. - Experience with statistical and correlation analysis. ## Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $90,500 to $158,400 USD annually in New York, New York. The Amazon compensation package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
