Your principal responsibility is the provision of electronic trading support for Macro, encompassing client onboarding and setup, pricing support, trade-related queries, and the resolution of platform functionality issues. You will deliver comprehensive 24/5 support to clients using the BARX platforms, including external clients accessing BARX directly or indirectly. You will closely collaborate with eSales, Voice Sales, Trading, and a wide range of operational, regulatory, and technical teams. The purpose of this role is to maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks by providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize productivity and minimize disruptions, while also handling administrative tasks and providing market information and research. ## Responsibilities (Accountabilities) - Provide immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities. - Coordinate trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions. - Maintain and update trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately. - Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support sales and trading activities. - Monitor market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions. - Handle operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies. ## Analyst Expectations Candidates in this role are expected to: - Perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard, consistently driving continuous improvement. - Possess in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise, along with a thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts. - Demonstrate strong ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls related to their work, ensuring compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct. - Maintain and continually build an understanding of how their sub-function integrates with the wider function, alongside knowledge of the organization's products, services, and processes. - Make evaluative judgments based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail. - Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions using acquired technical experience, guided by precedents. - Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex or sensitive information effectively. - Act as the contact point for stakeholders outside the immediate function, while building a necessary network both internally and externally. - Partner effectively with other functions and business areas. - Take responsibility for the end results of a team’s operational processing and activities and appropriately escalate policy or procedure breaches. ## Required Skills and Qualifications ### Required Skills - Some knowledge of Macro, specifically FX and/or FX Options product types. - Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with strong troubleshooting abilities. - Confidence in using Excel. - Willingness and ability to work shifts, including Bank Holidays. - Ability to design and implement new processes to improve organizational efficiency. ### Highly Valued Skills (Preferred) - Solid knowledge of financial markets. - Experience with single-dealer platforms and multi-bank trading platforms. - Knowledge and understanding of FIX protocols. - Understanding of desktop PC and end-user technology. ## General Information All colleagues are expected to demonstrate the Barclays Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship, and the Barclays Mindset of Empower, Challenge, and Drive.
