## Accounts Payable Associate

As a part of the Accounts Payable department, the Accounts Payable Associate will perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of a high volume of A/P transactions in a multi-business unit environment. The AP Associate is responsible for timely posting of 250+ invoices weekly. In addition, the associate will provide support for pay cycles and assist with month-end closing activities.

## Role Responsibilities

    
- Verify and post invoices and payment requests to SAP within established time standards.
    
- Review weekly aging reports to ensure posted invoices are being paid timely.
    
- Review payment proposals to ensure all approved invoices are included in the payment run and work the payment exception list.
    
- Communicate with vendors and internal customers regarding accounts payable discrepancies and issues.
    
- Ensure vendor banking information is kept up to date in SAP.
    
- Perform month-end close activities, including AP accruals, and resolving Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt discrepancies.
    
- Set up manual wires in the bank’s online system as needed.

## Job Requirements and Experience

**Preferred Qualifications:**

    
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related discipline.
    
- Basic knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures relating to accounts payable.
    
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the finance area, with an emphasis on candidates who have successfully performed account reconciliations.
    
- SAP experience is strongly preferred.

**Key Skills & Duties:**

    
- Verify and post invoices and payment requests to SAP within established time standards.
    
- Communicate with vendors and internal customers on accounts payable discrepancies and issues.
    
- Perform month-end close activities, including AP accruals, resolving Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt discrepancies, etc.
    
- Request new vendor setup in SAP and ensure vendor banking information is kept up to date.
    
- Contributes towards improvement initiatives.
    
- Maintains process documentation.
    
- Perform other AP analysis and tasks as required.
    
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships.
    
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
    
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables.
    
- Ability to work independently and multi-task, both independently and as part of a team.
    
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities.

**Work Environment Details:**

    
- This position is an office-based role with limited travel and visits to other RWEA offices and field locations.
    
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.

## Compensation and Benefits

**Pay Range:** The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois or New York is $57,000 - $85,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for new hire salaries across all U.S. locations. Factors such as scope of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and market considerations at the time of the offer will determine the final salary.
