If you’re curious about data, modelling, and analytical tools—and interested in how these insights help reinsurers understand the potential impact of major events such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and wildfires—this could be the perfect way to spend your summer. You will join Howden Re’s Analytics team and see how data is transformed into insights that help businesses navigate the global reinsurance market. The 10-week programme is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the world of reinsurance while helping you develop the knowledge, professional skills, and confidence to kick start your career. The programme offers a direct pathway into our Autumn 2028 graduate roles, subject to business needs and individual performance. ## What you’ll be doing You’ll begin with a structured induction before joining the Analytics team to work alongside experienced specialists on real client projects. During the programme, you’ll: - Learn how to assess risks from real events such as wildfires and earthquakes. - Produce reports and presentations for internal teams and clients. - Work with datasets to improve the quality and accuracy of risk analysis. - Help translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights. - Collaborate with brokers and analytics specialists on client projects. ## Who are we looking for? No insurance experience is needed—we’ll teach you everything you need to know. You’ll: - Be in your penultimate year of a STEM, Economics, or Geography degree. - Have achieved a minimum B grade in A-Level Mathematics. - Be curious about data, research, and commercial analysis. - Enjoy working with numbers and solving problems. - Communicate confidently and effectively, both verbally and in writing. - Be able to turn complex data and technical information into clear, meaningful insights. - Enjoy building relationships and collaborating with a range of people. - Be detail-oriented and comfortable working accurately with large amounts of information. **Eligibility:** To be eligible for our programme, you must have the full and unrestricted right to work in the UK. ## Application process Our application process is designed to help you show your potential, not to test what you already know! - **Online application form – no CV required:** We won’t ask you to submit a CV. Please upload a blank document on the application form. - **Online gamified assessment:** You’ll complete games designed to help us understand your natural strengths and how you approach different situations. There are no right or wrong answers. You can complete this stage on your phone or laptop. - **Pre-recorded video interview:** You’ll record your answers to a few questions using your phone or laptop, giving you the chance to tell us more about yourself in your own time. - **Assessment centre:** Our final stage is an in-person assessment centre at one of our offices. You’ll take part in group activities and meet the team in a relaxed setting. We’ll cover all your travel costs for this day. ## Why should you apply?
