## Job Description

The Salesforce Developer is responsible for using agile development methodologies to analyze, develop, and test system solutions in response to business requirements. The role involves understanding user stories, identifying appropriate designs, coding to design specifications, and completing appropriate unit testing to ensure quality delivery.

Working with stakeholders across IT and business teams through all phases of a project—requirements definition, design and build, delivery, and user acceptance testing—the Developer leverages industry expertise to consult on and influence project direction and to advocate for best practices. The Developer ensures the delivered product is fully functioning, performs according to approved business requirements, and meets or exceeds stakeholder expectations.

## Essential Accountabilities

### Level I

  
- Responsible for small user stories encompassing limited feature development and service requests, with impacts largely limited to a single application or system.
  
- Develops code; analyzes, researches, and resolves system issues.
  
- Articulates obstacles.
  
- Creates and maintains application documentation.
  
- Participates in design reviews and code reviews.
  
- Maintains urgency toward timelines and results.
  
- Participates in on-call rotation.
  
- Supports and follows all documented IT processes and standards.
  
- Attends daily standups.
  
- Communicates and works with team members and business stakeholders to understand requirements and identify application impacts.
  
- Creates individual work plans, specifications, and programs with guidance using development procedures and standards.
  
- Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
  
- Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with corporate privacy policies and procedures.
  
- Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  
- Performs other functions as assigned by management.

### Level II (in addition to Level I accountabilities)

  
- Responsible for small-to-medium user stories encompassing feature development and service requests, with some impacts to more than one application or system.
  
- Participates in strategic discussion and decision-making when called upon.
  
- Provides limited mentorship to Associate Developers.
  
- Provides input to the creation of Organizational Standards.

### Level III (in addition to Level II accountabilities)

  
- Responsible for medium-to-complex user stories encompassing complex feature development and service requests, with broad impacts to more than one application or system.
  
- Identifies process and technical deficiencies and offers solutions to resolve them.
  
- Provides mentorship to Associate and Mid-Level Developers; provides limited mentorship to other Senior Developers.
  
- Identifies best practices and participates in creation of Organizational Standards.

### Level IV (in addition to Level III accountabilities)

  
- Responsible for complex user stories encompassing complex feature development with broad impacts to a portfolio of applications and/or systems.
  
- Assists with software and system design and architecture within the assigned portfolio.
  
- Develops strategies to mitigate risk and translates those strategies into specific action plans.
  
- Provides mentorship to all technical staff at all levels.
  
- Identifies best practices and drives creation of Organizational Standards.

## Minimum Qualifications

Multiple classification levels are differentiated by demonstrated knowledge, skills, and the ability to manage increasingly independent and/or complex assignments, broader responsibility, additional decision-making, and—when applicable—serving as a resource to others. This approach supports both placement of new hires and employee development and promotional opportunities.

### Level I

  
- One (1) year of Salesforce development experience.
  
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant field. In lieu of a degree, six (6) years of experience required.
  
- Hands-on technical experience on Salesforce development or configuration in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, flows, and declarative tools.
  
- Proficiency in Salesforce platform development, including Apex classes/triggers, LWCs, and APIs.
  
- Familiarity with Salesforce configuration (objects, fields, page layouts, record types, permissions).
  
- Knowledge of SOQL/SOSL and data model design.
  
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and partner with team members and direct leadership to understand user stories and identify application and system impacts.
  
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  
- Knowledge and familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  
- Knowledge and familiarity with testing techniques (e.g., unit and system).

### Level II (in addition to Level I minimum qualifications)

  
- Two (2) years of Salesforce development experience.
  
- Demonstrated ability to apply Salesforce principles of application design and development.
  
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and partner with team members, direct leadership, and some business partners to understand user stories and identify application and system impacts.
  
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute appropriate test cases.
  
- Demonstrated ability to automate decision-making throughout an application to improve process efficiency.
  
- Salesforce certification.

### Level III (in addition to Level II minimum qualifications)

  
- Four (4) years of Salesforce development experience.
  
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and partner with team members, all levels of IT leadership, and all levels of business stakeholders to understand user stories and identify enterprise-wide application and system impacts.
  
- Demonstrated intermediate ability to manage integrations.
  
- Demonstrated experience leveraging and promoting reusable components.
  
- Advanced Salesforce certifications.

### Level IV (in addition to Level III minimum qualifications)

  
- Eight (8) years of Salesforce development experience.
  
- Subject matter expertise in two or more technologies leveraged by the organization.
  
- Demonstrated experience setting up the Salesforce platform from the ground up.
  
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply AI use cases within Salesforce applications to meet business needs.
  
- Demonstrated ability to optimize usability, security, and performance in Salesforce applications.
  
- Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic advisor on topics such as development of release pipelines, assessment and measurement of quality, practice of load testing, and estimation of cloud resources needed for applications.
  
- Multiple Salesforce certifications.

## Physical Requirements

  
- Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation and working on a computer.
  
- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
  
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.
  
- Ability to work in a home office for continuous periods of time for business continuity.

- Level I: 60,410 - 106,929
  
- Level II: 79,068 - 142,322
  
- Level III: 87,766 - 157,978
  
- Level IV: 110,093 - 198,168

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, and internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
