We encourage colleagues to give back through our Volunteer Time Off and Matching Grants Programs. ## Actuarial Team Overview Our actuaries quantify risk, price insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies globally. You will collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing, and Risk Management, among other functions, to help improve how we predict, manage, and mitigate risk. ## How You Will Make an Impact AIG’s Summer Interns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. During the 9-week program, you will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge while working with leaders on dynamic projects, with plenty of opportunities for challenges, learning, and achievement. Summer Interns join one of our key business teams to gain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment. In addition to meaningful on-the-job experiences, interns participate in instructor-led masterclasses, hear directly from senior leaders, and build connections through mentoring circles, networking events, and volunteering. Following completion of the internship program, interns may be considered for a role in the location where they completed their internship, with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028. ## Responsibilities - Analyze data and apply actuarial techniques to help quantify risk, price insurance products, and support loss reserving. - Assist with actuarial analyses, models, forecasts, and reports that support business and financial decisions. - Partner with experienced actuaries and teams across Finance, Claims, Operations, Risk Management, and other business areas. - Monitor trends and evaluate financial and insurance data to identify insights and support recommendations. - Communicate actuarial findings and analyses clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Develop technical and business expertise while progressing through AIG’s Actuarial Development Program and actuarial examinations. ## Minimum Qualifications ### Education Requirements - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application). ### Program Requirements - Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027. - Summer Intern positions are in-person and require working in the office at least four days per week. ### Core Qualifications - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional environment. - Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail. - Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. ## Preferred Qualifications - Preferred majors include Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics. - Completion of, or demonstrated progress toward, actuarial examinations is preferred. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel; exposure to analytical or programming tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar technologies is a plus. - Demonstrated interest in pursuing an actuarial career and progressing toward professional actuarial credentials. - Demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement. - Excelled in previous work experience. ## Compensation For applicants in Colorado, Jersey City, and New York City, the hourly pay range for this position is $28.64–$34.47. ## Applying to this role This 2027 Early Careers: Summer Intern, Actuarial – United States, Multiple Locations role at AIG runs through the firm's own careers portal and expects a CV and cover letter written specifically for the posting, not a portable submission carried across firms.
