### Structured Products Valuation Advisory

Leveraging extensive experience analyzing, structuring, securitizing, underwriting, investing in, and trading whole loans and structured credit instruments, professionals use thorough analytical methods and proprietary modeling techniques. ## Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst position is a strong opportunity to join a rapidly growing firm. Financial Analysts in Financial Valuation Advisory Services are integrated members of engagement teams. The role provides broad exposure to key issues affecting businesses today and includes a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence at least 4 days per week.

After completing training specific to valuation techniques, databases, and tools, general responsibilities include:

  
- Analyzing and valuing structured products, asset-backed loans, loan pools, and other illiquid securities
  
- Determining relevant valuation assumptions based on historical performance, collateral type, and economic scenarios
  
- Using a discounted cash flows framework to derive value indications at appropriate market discount margins/yields
  
- Performing market research and calibrating proprietary valuation models to incorporate market-based assumptions
  
- Reviewing and compiling published financial information, including industry research reports, remittance data, and market data across a wide range of asset classes
  
- Preparing client deliverables, including valuation reports, pitch materials, and information requests
  
- Participating in due diligence meetings/discussions and drafting responses to auditor questions regarding valuation analyses prepared by Houlihan Lokey
  
- Presenting valuation analyses and conclusions internally to review committees, externally to clients’ senior management and boards of directors, and to fiduciaries
  
- Performing quantitative and qualitative assessments on distribution reports, financial statements, and other sources of information as required
  
- Assisting with research and reporting on general economic conditions, industry-specific conditions and trends, and investment attributes of illiquid securities
  
- Supporting sales and marketing initiatives for prospective and existing clients
  
- Providing ad-hoc research, analytics, and support for FVA project teams as required

### Required Qualifications

  
- 1–3 years of work experience
  
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, or an equivalent quantitative field
  
- Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
  
- Understanding of basic probability and statistical concepts
  
- Strong analytical abilities, including demonstrated ability to model discounted cash flows
  
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through complex financial models to determine key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
  
- Strong knowledge of Excel
  
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and presentations with graphic and written components for teams and clients
  
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members
  
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  
- Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail
  
- Ability to manage multiple projects and interact with clients and internal management
  
- Flexibility to travel to client sites for due diligence meetings as required

### Desirable (Not Required) Qualifications

  
- Knowledge of multiple valuation techniques
  
- Knowledge of structured products, including Residential and Commercial Mortgage Securities (RMBS and CMBS), Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), and Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO)
  
- Knowledge of and experience with statistical packages and data sources such as Intex and Bloomberg

## Compensation and Benefits

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing an exciting career opportunity and a competitive total compensation package, which may include other components such as discretionary incentive compensation. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is:

**$85,000–$125,000**

Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position is filled.
